Within the folds of a Sky glistening with stars, Kaki evolved. The wind ruffled her dreamy feathers and thus the young girl flew from one end of the night to the other. Suddenly, from between saffron clouds, a halo of chalcedony light dawned in the distance. Awe-inspiring dome, polished to perfection, which Sky had to crown!
Wind whispered in Kaki’s ear: “Open your hands and show them to the stars”, which she did. There, in the depths of her palms, appeared iridescent powders laden with changing colours, sometimes attuned to the hues of nascent dawn, at others to those of the deepest night.
Gliding in the golden light, Kaki reached the shores of the Orient. She knew nothing of these distant lands yet understood she had reached the end of her journey.

She retrieved the little dome and crowned it with rows of precious metal, giving it an ornament worthy of its radiance.
Appointing herself magician, Kaki sprinkled the golden masterpiece with the celestial glimmers the stars had placed in her hands. Hence, wonder occurred: as though heated by an invisible fire, the powders melted and took the colours of Sky.
At last, all was perfect. Kaki adorned the marvel on her finger, its roundness pointing towards infinity: “Here is Hagia Sophia!” she whispered; and no other name could have better settled upon the dome.
